How Fire Doors Work

Fire doors are installed as part of a fire protection system to help prevent smoke and flames from spreading to different areas in the rest of the building. All of these doors must have a certain fire-resistance rating, and every door that we install is compliant with Australian Standard AS1905.1.

Fully functioning fire doors need to be installed by a licensed/ qualified person. Door mechanisms will age and require regular maintenance.

Fire doors are installed in all new buildings. Older doors can also be upgraded to modern fire doors by our technicians.

Eagle Fire door installation services can manage all tasks, large or small such as squeaking doors and large tasks, such as replacing or installing new doors. These doors are typically the same when it comes to installation. Many of them use the same technologies, whether they are installed in commercial buildings or in high-rise buildings. Many fire doors are made with a fire-retardant profile. Made from timber, they also have added materials such as heat-resistant glass and fortified wire mesh. Aluminium and steel are also added to these doors. Fire doors are also made to block and limit smoke expansion from the fire area. They are made with a special seal that can expand when the temperature reaches 200 degrees, blocking the smoke in the fire area.

Certified and Approved Fire Safety Doors

A standard fire door is made up of the door leaf, door frame and special handles, locks and closers that do not burn. The doors must also be self-closing and self-latching to ensure that they can be properly certified for fire protection.

Tag and Certify

Once the door has been installed with the approved hardware and safety features, our team will issue a tag and certificate for the door and the frame. These certificates are required to prove that the door has met all safety requirements.
